Wireless Telecommunications Bureau Announces New Requirements for Signal Boosters

Industrial Signal Boosters

As of March 1, 2014, the FCC requires that all industrial signal boosters have a label stating compliance and installation performed by qualified, FCC Licensee installers with carrier approval. This applies to ALL of the Bi-Directional Amplifiers and Digital Repeaters except those noted for Public Safety applications (see below). Any of these products shipped on or after March 1, 2014 will be labeled in accordance with these requirements. These products purchased prior to March 1, 2014 also need to be labeled. Public Safety Signal Boosters

As of November 1, 2014, the FCC requires that all public safety signal boosters need to be registered and labeled as a Part 90 Class B Signal Booster. A signal booster number will be assigned by the FCC when registered. You can register online at:
www.fcc.gov/signal-boosters/registration.

In order to register, you will need the following information:

– Your FCC Registration Number (FRN) is required to log-in
– Latitude/ Longitude (in decimal format)
– Address of Signal Booster location
– Frequencies
– Call sign(s)
– Company name, address, contact name, email and telephone number

Any of these products shipped on or after November 1, 2014 will be labeled in accordance with these requirements.
